Julius Akpong is currently the HSE Manager for Globeleq Power Solutions Nigeria Ltd. Where he has recorded great success in the evolution of a positive safety culture through the development, implementation and maintenance of cutting edge initiatives, systems, procedures and processes in sites design, installation, operation/maintenance and aftermarket services of the Independent power provider across West Africa; achieving over a million man hours LTI free. He has supervised and implemented hazard controls around water and gas pipelines fabrication, Waste heat recovery boiler installations for trigeneration, tablets, capsules and drip manufacturing, Aircraft maintenance and operational logistics and lots more. His wealth of experience has spanned over the past seventeen years across Pharmaceuticals production, Oil and Gas, power generation, Construction and Aviation safety. Julius had his first degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Calabar, Nigeria and MSc in Disaster Risk Management and Development studies from Aztech University, Mexico.
He is a Fellow of the Emergency Crisis and Risk Management Institute (ECRMI), Member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), a Graduate member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), United Kingdom, a Fellow of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Certified Physical Security Manager, ISO-SEC Switzerland, International Tutor, DRI Nigeria, member of the Chemical society of Nigeria and a trained fire fighter (Niger and Lagos States Fire Service). He has attended many courses and conferences on Occupational Health and Safety, corporate sustainability management and Business Continuity Planning. He is a resourceful and passionate fire safety, sustainability and reliability professional with many credible accomplishments to show for it.
